Temperature Rise Indicator

Feeder pillar is a common cabinet type in the power grid. It is generally used at the lower end of the transformer. The fuse switch is used as the main switch and the MCCB is used as the shunt switch. It plays a role in distributing 380V AC power and is widely used in buildings.

There are strict standards for the temperature rise performance of the JP box. In China, it is generally less than 65K.

TBEA participated in a JP box project, using the international brand fuse switch disconnector as the main switch in the cabinet. However, in the temperature rise test, the temperature rise index reached 75K, which seriously exceeded the qualified standard.

Solution

After connecting with TBEA, the following optimizations were carried out

Replace the GRL DNH7 fuse switch disconnector

GRL 400A fuse switch adopts copper contacts and flame retardant V0 (UL-94) material. The test temperature rise is less than 60K, which is of great help to reduce the temperature rise of the distribution box.

Modify the switchgear layout

Under GRL’s suggestion, TBEA changed the JP box scheme. Move the switch position of the 400A fuse down, and the temperature rise data of the high-temperature area in the upper part of the principle box is greatly reduced.

Use a low-power fuse

When the current is overloaded, it will be blown quickly to avoid a large amount of heat from the fuse and ensure safe use.

Customer Use

During the inspection, TBEA used GRL 400 amp fuse switch disconnector for testing. The final temperature rise was less than 65K. As a result, the project went ahead smoothly.
