Overview

The HV disconnect switch mainly plays a safety role in the power grid.Its task is to open and close circuits under no load to achieve the purpose of power outage maintenance and circuit conversion.

In the closed state, the HV disconnect switch  can reliably pass the rated current and carry the short-circuit current;

in the open state, it forms a clearly visible isolation fracture with reliable insulation, so that the lines that need to be repaired or segmented are isolated from the live lines.

Since the high voltage isolating switch does not have a special arc extinguishing device, it usually only opens and closes lines when there is no load.But when some special use cases, such as switching buses, switching off no-load transformers and no-load buses, etc., it should also be able to separate and combine the bus conversion current (circulating current), the excitation current of the no-load transformer, and the capacitive current of the no-load bus, etc.

Each phase of the HV disconnect switch structure consists of a chassis, a pillar insulator, a blade, contacts and other parts.

There are screws on the side of the blade to adjust the contact pressure and a spring for compression. The upper end is equipped with a fixed pull buckle and a self-locking device connected to it, which is used for opening and closing of the insulated hook rod.
