What is a busbar system?

The busbar system is a unique way of power distribution.

In the 1880s, the German wohner busbar system company launched a novel, flexible and original modular busbar installation electrical equipment.

The earliest electrical busbar system was in the modular busbar installation center that the company first launched. In the bus-mounted electrical equipment with a distance of 40MM, products of 60MM and 100/185MM were added later.

After continuous improvement, the modules were standardized, the current and voltage ratings were serialized, and the product parts were generalized. The power distribution method is the busbar wiring system.

The busbar in power system is based on flat copper busbars with specific spacing. Through unique connection technology as well as low-voltage power distribution components (disconnect switches, fuse holders, motor starters, and wires), it can be hung on the copper busbars. Then it can inform a power distribution systems, which is flexible, multifunctional, and easy to install and maintain.

The power busbar system is mainly used in low-voltage power distribution cabinets.

The incoming and outgoing line circuits adopt the installation technology of non-piercing connection-hooking, and the system is completely sealed.

Comparing the busbar electrical system with the traditional connection, the busbar system can be installed without drilling, and the components are connected in sequence from left to right, saving space, clear structure, convenient operation, compact space, safety protection, and convenient maintenance;

while the traditional method requires measurement, Preparatory work such as marking and drilling is cumbersome and inefficient, the overall configuration takes up space, the preparation period is long, the personnel skill requirements are high, and the steps are cumbersome;

GRL industrial busbar system, there are 7 major advantages:

1. The busbar is not punched, eliminating the need for drilling, assembling bolts, and other processes, reducing the loss of copper bars.

2. Quick installation, the installation is completed after the hook is successful, the components and the adapter are completely matched, no need to process the cable head and the installation skills do not need to be so high.

3. Safety, the busbar is on the back of the system, and the exposed conductor cannot be touched by the front. Even if there is no product installed on the front, there is a complete cover system to cover the busbar for all-around anti-touch protection.

4. Compact, reduce the space occupied by cables or copper bars, avoid line crossing, and have clear layers. The compact structure saves valuable space in the distribution cabinet. Take the 60Classic busbar connection system as an example, the height of the system is only about 200mm.

5. Flexible, adjustable product mounting position, flexible and variable structure. Replacing or adding components is easy and the busbar distribution system does not need to be powered off.

6. Beautiful, streamlined design, high-grade color matching, full of scientific and technological sense, unique.

7. Cost-effectiveness, through the busbar protection system technology of GRL, in addition to enjoying the convenience and advantages brought by the technology, can also save labor costs, space costs, and maintenance costs.

The types of busbar system of GRL can be divided into 185mm busbar power distribution system, 60mm flexible busbar system and 30mm low voltage busbar system (5P busbar system) according to the different copper bar spacing.

185mm busbar systems, the copper bar spacing is 185mm, suitable for high-power systems below 2500A, can be connected to 630A molded case circuit breakers, suitable for high-current power distribution cabinets;

60mm busbar systems, the copper bar spacing is 60mm, the most commonly used standard application, the current can reach up to 1600A, the selection of components and busbars is wide, Fand it is suitable for various industries;

5P busbar systems, copper bar spacing is 30mm/60mm, compact busbar system, installation height is only 160mm, the current is below 250A, PE/N wire can be integrated, suitable for data center column head cabinet, etc.;

The busbar connection system includes busbar supports, connecting elements (busbar clamps, terminal blocks), adapters, closing elements, and switching elements.

In the industrial busbar system, the copper bar plays both a conductive role and a supporting role, and there are certain requirements for the electrical and physical properties of the copper bar.

According to the shape of the cross-section, the copper bars of GRL can be divided into rectangular, T-shaped, 2T-shaped, 3T-shaped, TTC-shaped, etc.

There are also laminated flat thin copper conductors superimposed, and the outer layer is extruded. Soft busbar made of the plastic-coated insulating layer.

In the busbar system, the soft busbar is mainly used as a conductive connection and as a wire. At present, the maximum cross-section of GRL’s soft busbars can reach 1200mm², and the maximum current can reach 1600A.

The busbar supports can fix the copper bar to the installation position, and also play a fixed installation role for the entire busbar connection system.

The connecting elements are divided into busbar clamp and wiring modules.

The busbar clips can quickly connect the wires to the copper bar, and can also be used as an extension connection for the copper bar. , At present, the maximum applicable cable is 300mm².

The wiring module can connect the wire to the copper bar without punching, and has the function of insulation protection. The maximum current can reach 630A.

The busbar adapter can also directly install the circuit breaker on the copper busbar. The GRL adapter can support 6A-800A miniature and molded case circuit breakers, which can almost meet all mainstream circuit breaker styles under this current condition.

The switch element is used for overload protection in the busbar protection system and can also be used as the main switch.

Compared with ordinary switches, the busbar disconnect switch has a transfer mechanism, which can be mounted on the copper bar without drilling.

The sealing element is the protective cover, which can seal the exposed conductive parts so that the entire power distribution system becomes an insulated closed unit, and no conductive copper bars are exposed on the front.

The global busbar systems market has great market potential and is widely used in the fields of power distribution, industrial control, and new energy.

such as the integrated distribution box JP cabinet of power distribution, pre-installed box-type substation, capacitor compensation cabinet, industrial control automobile manufacturing, industrial Electric furnace, environmental protection technology, new energy wind power generation, and photovoltaic power generation.
